Why hasn’t my Wi-Fi connection been detected?

We all know about Wi-Fi connectivity issues, they do happen at times, but luckily, they can usually be fixed by following these steps:

  • Confirm that both your machine and router are correctly plugged in and switched on.
  • Ensure that your machine isn’t too far from your router. If so, move closer.
  • Check if other Wi-Fi enabled devices in your home can connect to your router.
  • Verify that your Wi-Fi network isn’t hidden.
  • Take a look for possible interference, including other nearby Wi-Fi networks, wireless devices, baby monitors, fluorescent lights, microwaves and materials like metal and concrete.
  • Make sure other devices aren’t using too much bandwidth.
  • Switch off your router and wait for five minutes before switching it back on. This straightforward reboot can often do the trick!
