Why does my beverage brew slower or colder than usual?
When your favourite drink drips into your cup or tastes colder than usual, it’s a sign that your machine needs to be descaled! The build-up of limescale is the cause, but we have a very simple solution: the NESCAFÉ® Dolce Gusto® descaling solution.

Want your machine to flow at full speed again? Check out the “How do I descale my NEO coffee machine?” for detailed instructions.
- Mix 0.5L of tap water with the NESCAFÉ® Dolce Gusto® descaling solution, which you can purchase via our website, and pour the solution into the empty water tank.
- Insert the water tank into the machine. Remove the drip tray. Place a 0.7L container underneath the coffee outlet.
- To enter descaling mode, close the slider and press the start button for 15 seconds until it rapidly flashes orange twice. The button then softly dims orange, and the descaling begins. When the button turns blue, wait for two minutes.
- After the two minutes, start the rinsing process. Refill the water tank with tap water and insert it into the machine.
- Remove the drip tray. Place a large empty container under the coffee outlet.
- Close the slider and press the start button to rinse your machine.
- Empty the container and the water tank once rinsing has finished. Refill and reinsert the water tank and reinsert the drip tray. The machine is now ready to use!
